The Girls’ Brigade in England and Wales now have their own special edition of Made To Be Me by Shell Perris. The book gives Shell’s personal story of her journey through bullying, dealing with low self-esteem and overcoming an eating disorder to become a singer, songwriter, author and evangelist.
Shell’s experiences, passion to get people excited about God and bubbly personality make her an ideal role model for teenage girls. Ruth Gilson, Director of The Girls’ Brigade in England and Wales, said, ‘We are thrilled to have a special Girls' Brigade edition of Made To Be Me. Taking this step has helped GB to directly encourage our leaders to read it and pass it on to teenagers they know. It’s what I would call a win – win. Shell is resourcing GB leaders to understand more about the very real search for identity and self worth experienced by many young women – and GB young women are discovering that they are made to be themselves in God!’
The Girls’ Brigade (GB) is a Christian, international charity working alongside girls and young women of every background, ability and culture.
